Bit short notice i know but im at Bedford Autodrome this weekend doing a trackday with Torque Italia.

There will be a few Italian cars there so if anyone wants to come along and have a watch, or pay £5 for a passenger wrist band there will be a few people as usual willing to give passenger rides.

Just remember if you fancy a passenger ride you will need to bring a helmet and suitable clothing so your arms / legs are covered.

Well it survived the day and what a fantastic day it was :D

There was a mixed variety of cars and drivers out on track which meant we wernt the slowest which is always good.

Track conditions were a little slippery first thing and we had a few scary moments and a few cars had a little spin but nothing major.
Around 10.30 it had dried up and the sun was starting to come through the clouds (still very cold though) and i had started to learn the long yet very rewarding 3.8 mile GT circuit which was proving to suit the car quite well.
Second session out saw Jai's Uno Turbo give up the go, after recovering it back to the pits Dad found that the main power feed had come off the starter motor (after bouncing over a big kerb) Job done we thought, it started but there was a horrible bottom end rattle so that was day over for the poor Uno so Lewis took his place in his Grande Punto Sporting and filled the air with lots of black diesel exhaust smoke for the rest of the day

After lunch we went back out, i had learnt the circuit by now and we were going very quickly  , the tyres were begging for mercy as they were howling away and we were now passing cars with more power :arse: and showing them how quick a little cento can go in the hands of a fearless lunatic (me)

After having a few passenger rides Dad anounced he though it was time he climbed into the driving seat and showed the old girl who was boss which after a few laps and pointers from me on where the circuit went we were once agian flying along and from the passenger seat its a bit more scary especially when its your car and some crazy old man is pedeing it as hard as his tallent will allow :? :chase:
After a quick stop for more fuel  Dad took Ben out for a few laps which wernt quite as scary as going out with me aparently but still very quick and fantastic fun.
I stood on the pit wall and watch them going round and what a fantastic noise she makes, the raspy inlet noise followed by the crackly zingy burbly popping exhaust note from her screaming little FIRE engine is lovely, even the guy's standing on the pit wall commented on how fantastic it sounded and quick it was going which was nice.

3.00 came round, my hands were starting to get ache slightly along with my left leg from the heavy clutch and my feet had turned to ice but one last blast was begging to be had so off we went for the final hoorah, being the last session it had to be fastest, best session of the day and it was as Ben will no doubt verify.

170 track miles, a tank and 1/4 of fuel, tyres well scrubed we headed off home to defrost and look back on the pictures of the day (ill upload some later) It was a fantastic day out with some fantastic people who i shall be doing a few more events with next year and hopefully some cars from clubcento maybe  .

Rusty was an absolute star  once again and i dont think ill ever part with her, ive had every nut and bolt undone on that little car on more occasions than i care (and want) to remember and thats what makes it special, we built it from a wreck and its perfect (well through slightly rose tinted glasses) Roll on the next trackday! :dancin:

The end :D

Soft front, hard rear seems to work best on a Cinquecento I think especially on track

A soft front and a firm rear is a good combo on a girly, too :D
