Just got my new car & I love her however I have a few niggles with her.

Rear brakes & handbrake not working fully - sorted.
Front brakes serviced.
Boot light not working - sorted.
Headlights not adjusting - sorted.
Cam cover gasket leaking - sorted.
Couple of minor chafed wires - sorted.
Now it is overheating!!

The 'I have overheated' light came on on a drive to Lincoln accompanied with clouds of steam. Tank dropped to minimum level so topped her up & drove home carefully. Thermostat is working as top hoses go hot but flushed through coolant anyway. However can't get radiator fan to work although it spins freely. It also looks to have 14vdc supply to it? I disconnected/linked out the green temperature sensor plug in the inlet manifold but instead of the temperature warning light I was expecting I got the EML on & code P0115 engine coolant temperature system error?
So have I disconnected the right plug to test the fan or is there another one? Is 14vdc the right voltage for the fan & do I have a dead fan? Lastly can I strip the fan out without removing the bumper & radiator?

Thanks in advance!! :D

I WOULD UNPLUG THE FAN AND RUN WIRES FROM THE BATTERY TO THE FAN WIRES TO TEST THE FAN OPERATION. IF ITS SCRAP IT IS NOT A BIG JOB REMOVING THE BUMPER ON A Cinquecento. ONLY 6 BOLTS HOLD IT ON AFTER REMOVING WHEELS AND WHEEL LINER SCREWS/BOLTS. NEXT REMOVE RAD PIPES AND DRAIN RAD. THE RAD ONLY HAS ONE BRACKET AND A SLOT FOR THE END AT THE WING PANEL. THE PARTS ARE CHEAP AND EASY TO BUY. I PAID 20 EURO FOR A NEW RAD SHIPPED FROM POLAND...
