Hi everyone.

I'm going to be storing my beloved Luigi soon (YAY, not selling!) and I want to iron out a couple of minor issues before he goes in the garage.

The main issue is that his alternator belt squeaks upon startup and infrequently when driving. Since I got him 3 years back, I have had several alternator replacements. The original alternator has seized up and so was replaced by a garage who never seemed to be able to fit one correctly. I had multiple battery flats and alternator breakages because they couldn't tension it right it seems. Eventually we stopped giving them the pleasure of our business and the honour of touching Luigi because they were just taking the "Michael".

Has anyone else had an issue with their belt squeaking? If so, can you recommend a way to fix it? I have done vigorous google without an answer so I came to the boards here. You guys have always been great for help and advice!

Many thanks in advance!

Adam H :) (and Luigi)

The 899s are really tricky to get the belt tensioned on properly. If you're still having issues with the belt slipping, might be worth changing the crank pulley in case it's worn.

Where would be a good place to get one of these?

Try from Fiat or eurocarcare.
