being new to this oldskool chip tuning thing, hopefully some of you on here can help me out.

for people who have fitted performance chips, have they needed to replace the chip when changing the engine to the 1.2 punto spi or will it work fine as most people just run the Cinquecento ecu on the larger engine anyway? for example; looking at the chip they do on ebay, they are all the same picture, so i assume the same chip?

if i was to fit the 1.2 spi throttle body to my Cinquecento, would i just fit it with the injector or fit the Cinquecento injector? do i need to adjust anything else when fitting this, or just slap it on?

finally, is decatting the car worth it? does it make any real difference?

thanks for your help :)

Chip will be fine with with 1108 or 1242.

Just swap complete throttle body over, just make sure you put vac pipes on correct way round :)

De catting helps a little bit, combined with a decent manifold and your other mods it should be a bit nippier :)

thanks. done handling and brakes so want to see if i can squeeze a little more out of the old 1.1.

will probably have a go at making an exhaust manifold in the summer. just want a few bits to play with during the winter without going too mad.

I have a cheap Uno twin manifold and downpipe for sale if that's any good. Not as good as a 4-2-1 stainless mani but is a cheap mod. Ad is in the for sale section :)

thanks for the offer. will just go down the stainless route as can get all materials for free at work and then just spend a little time putting it all together.

not going to mess about with the exhaust yet. bought a complete new system inc cat last year so want to get some use out of it before i rip it off and junk it!

only reason i was going to go with the 1.2 tb is that i know a bloke with a complete engine he will sell me cheap. i was going to nick a few of the bits off the 1.2 to get a bit more power, run the 1.1 until it dies on the track and then swap it out for the 1.2 when i have rebuilt it.

where can i get a 40mm tb from or is it a custom job?

Yes it's a custom job, bored out, sleeve fitted, bored to 40mm and new butterfly made and fitted.
I make them also MPI one's.

I have been making them in my spare time for just over a year now, they take about 7 to 8 hours to do.
PM sent.

Just picked up this throttle body. Will report back once fitted and tested.
