hi all! do aftermarket free flow air filters,ie k&n,pipercross ect, make any difference to the 899 spi engine? does the engine management work out the fueling etc and correct the air/fuel mixture?

I'd be amazed if it made any notable difference other than induction noise. Best bet is a retro fit filter for the original housing, that way you still have the benefit of temperature controlled intake in the winter

The GSR type induction kits on the 1108s did make a difference to torque, but I'm not sure if the same applies to the 899s. It should though as the principal is the same.
