Hello everyone..

I haven't been on here since August 2009 for a number of reasons, so I thought a re-introduction was in order..

Still got the Seicento Schumacher (No.2520) and looking for an early Cinquecento Sporting to restore..

Lots to say but I'll add more tomorrow..

Good to be back and will definitely hang around for good this time!

Will stick a photo of my Seicento up tomorrow, too..

Thanks for the welcome (again) guys..

I never really posted much of an intro first time around, so...

I'm based in Northumberland, 43 years old and an ex-Vauxhall mechanic of 15 years (83-98)..

Cars owned are pretty typical for someone my age and include: Escort Mk2 x 3 including 1.6 Ghia and full Zakspeed works kitted monster, Fiesta Mk1 x2 including XR2, Nova Mk1 x 2 (SR), Astra Mk2, Tigra Bermuda, etc...

I picked up the Schumacher in July 2009 after parting company with my X plate Seicento Sporting (yellow)..

Since then I've put around 1500 miles on the Schu but have (to my shame) failed to sort the minor scuffs and marks out that I promised to when I first brought it home..

I intended to use the Schumacher for a year then put it into storage until my oldest son was 17 (some time off!), however, I'm having such a good time with the car that it's very likely to remain on the road for another few years yet!!

Another part of my plan (when I picked up the Schu) was to look around for a 'modern' classic to restore.

I won't bore any of you with the full list of cars I chased (and didn't secure) but the highlights include: Austin Allegro, Citroen Visa GT, Talbot Samba Rallye, Fiat 127 Sport, Fiat 126, and Nova Sport..

The above is one of the reasons I didn't stay with this forum as I spent months on other ones searching for cars and seeking advice..

Back in 1995 I almost bought a Cinquecento in yellow (I almost bought a Tigra MTV Summertime in yellow, too, but that's another story)..

Anyway, the Cinquecento always had a place in my heart and I always promised myself I'd pick one up to restore at some point in my life..

Well, that point in time has arrived and so as well as keeping on top of the Schumacher, I'm now looking for an early Cinquecento Sporting to restore.

And that kind of brings this up to date.

I'll be here for the long haul now and intend to fully join the club..

Thanks for reading, folks...

Good call. They're such a fun little car, the Centos.

My Dad had one of these when I passed my test. They're unbelievably crap, so narrow escape there fella!

Hi and welcome.
Always fancied a Schumacher myself. Maybe next time.

Love them or hate them, the Tigra is now entering the 'modern' classics domain and the pineapple yellow models are some of the rarest..

I had a Bermuda for a couple of years and had a lot of fun with it..

Looking forward to adding to my Fiat collection soon...

Or should that be 'Intro: Take 3'???

So here we are (unbelievably) a few more years down the line..

I parted company with the red Schumacher a couple of years ago and due to family commitments have been tearing (hoho) around in a Panda..

To be fair to my other half, she did tell me to keep the Schumacher but at the time I had no room for three cars..

But that has been resolved: walls knocked down, extra drive installed, etc, and so I find myself back on the hunt for an early Cinquecento Sporting, and consequently back on here!!

So once again, it's nice to be back..

I hope to have news of an aquisition in the not too distant future.... :)
