New 500L, looks a bit too like a Mini Countryman for me :?

I'm not impressed with it, it's lost the cuteness of the 500 which was probably its biggest selling point. It just looks bland and I feel Fiat are losing their way on a design front.

I have to say i cant think of a new Fiat i would want apart from the 500. They have to be quite honest a rather undesirable range of cars at the moment between Fiat, Lancia and Alfa.

They need to look back to the 80's and 90's when they had a decent model line up for all tastes and budgets from the basic city cars to high performance monsters.

If it was billed as a LWB or estate version of the Panda, fair enough. But being that it's badged as a 500 I'm not so keen.

It looks far too similar to new 'squircle' Panda....which is fine; the new Panda is good looking, but this is supposed to be a 500. And yes there is more than a touch of the BMW Bibendum about it :? :(

So yeah - if it was going to be a Panda variant I would quite like it as it looks right for that purpose. But as a 500 variant, the styling is very wide of the mark. I'd have expected them to take the Giardiniera for inspiration.....i.e. keeping the recognisable 500 nose!

Will reserve full judgement til I've seen one in the metal, as there are only 2 photos at the moment, and it might come across better in real life (fingers crossed).

yep - it looks more like the Panda then the 500 - badge engineering ?

Yet another van ! Add this to the Doblo, Panda and recently discontinued Qubo and Multipla. A truly awful piece of work which shows Fiat have lost the plot. :x

Why don't they stick to what they used to do best, making small CARS.

I agree with Lee about the current range, they now only have a dreary range of uninspiring vehicles which are outclassed by products from other manufacturers, they even had to go back fifty years and re-hash the iconic 500 design to achieve a car thats marketable.

A lot of Italians in Italy also vote with their cash and buy German which is what they've been doing for the past ten years or more, like most others the 500 is the only Fiat they want.

Will we ever see Fiat produce a proper innovative small car again?

But what Fiat do best (did best?) was little cars with charm, character, good looks and unburstable little engines.

As far as I can tell, the 500L doesn't do any of this. Rob, are you sure you had your glasses on - it's fugly :?

it looks like a hybrid of a multipla, new Panda and a Citroen Picasso

perhaps thats what the market wants, good luck to Fiat with it i say

if it sells...
