I knew that I rejoined for a good reason. This is the solution I've been looking for.

Ok so the sticking point for any progress on the Sei is the lights.
The reflectors have been broken for a while, but my Dad and I have secured them with bicycle spokes (of all things). However this means that vertical adjusters are unavailable on the lights, but there does seem to be a lot of adjustment available using the mounting bolts. I can't find any resources (that make sense) on how to set your lights correctly for an MOT. Most people just say " take it to a garage and they'll do it". Problem is, most garages aren't interested as the adjusters don't work so they just say buy new lights. That'll cost a significant percentage of the value of the car.

Until I either find some cheap 2nd hand lights or figure how to set the levels myself I'm kinda stuck.

Anyone know of how to set the lights at the correct level for an MOT, I know it can be done with a wall and bits of tape but everything I have found seems more to be geared towards American cars and not a UK MOT.

you need a level checking tool really but too adjust them you need too loosen or tighten the bolts on the back of the light 8)

I am not sure if it has manual adjusters for the vertical as it has electronic ones (now disconnected as the lenses are fixed). However if the adjusters I've spotted are for the vertical then they're very much seized and won't want to move anytime soon.

If they were a MOT pass before they failed, you may not need to adjust them. If you're looking for a quick fix, can you attach a spring to tension the reflector against the adjuster stud?
