hi, I was wondering about replacing the exhaust on my 1.1 Sei. I have just received a GSR induction kit and tricker T/B (not fitted yet) and was wondering about reducing the restriction of the back-box etc.

First question is about weight. How much heavier are the stainless cat-backs than something with similar performance in alu (Supersprint?)

Secondly, I see a janspeed on ebay but it doesn't look stainless, and says Abarth on the advert. Did the Abarths come with a Janspeed as standard, and if so is it alu/steel/stainless etc?

Thirdly, anyone had experience with Cybox exhausts, advertised on ebay. A thread I read said the factory used to be called Peco, and I saw someone recommend Peco in another thread on FF.

I have a supersprint back box on mine, makes a nice subtle sound and feels like the engine revs more freely.

Looks like stainless steel, not a very high grade however as its a little corroded. I would say its about the same as standard weight wise, I didn't notice a difference when I fitted it.

Abarth Cinquecento and sei only had body and wheel modifications, they didn't have anything different engine/exhaust wise so it must be an after market exhaust.

They cocked up when they designed the Cinquecento Abarth rear apron as the exhaust hole didn't line up properly. Part of the factory Abarth kit was a new tail pipe trim that lined up with the hole!

Well you learn something new everyday, I think most of the Cinquecento Abarths I have seen just have a normal exhaust.

I have a Pico on mine. Cybox now makes them. Good exhaust and quite light. Sounds ok with the usual big bore drone. The Janspeed I had on a Cinquecento was good quality but heavy and was a bit much on a run with regard to the drone. Same one as on ebay with the oval tailpipe. Supersprint are Ok, but over priced for what they are and look stupid with the large can on a small pipe.
If I were to choose a new exhaust, I would go for the Cybox.
I would like a larger mid resonator though.
